Tree Pipit Although pipits are land birds typical of open environments, the arboreal thrives in tree and shrub formations. It is a typical inhabitant of the northern countryside that in the 1970s began a slow expansion throughout the Central System. Very similar in appearance to other congeners, its powerful and melodious song, and its summer presence help to identify it. Outside the breeding area of the northern half of the peninsula, it can be seen in periods of migratory passage.
